    Two whaling ships with one flying the British Red Ensign flag, two long boats row out in pursuit of the whale in  rough  ice capped Artic waters , possibly "Greenlanders" which was the name given 
to these sailors who set sail from England in the 19th Century and sailed to Greenland & also parts of Canada in pursuit of their quarry.  signed bottom left T K Fairless 1851
