Unique and rare piece of Kitchenalia ,17th century German biscuit / Gingerbread mould depicting
eight individual characters which have been laid down foot to foot , 4 up and 4 down , each individual character representing a occupation / profession from clergy the first being a bishop
to a lady lamp lighter & a male lamp lighter all dressed in traditional attire. Around each outline of the eight moulds are raised steel cutters of around 5mm high . which when the biscuit dough was pressed on the mould would have made the impression of each figure. This thick ancient heavily patinated mold possibly being either Cherry or Sycamore wood with historic burns to the edge and back of the mold ... Unique and early.
