An Incredibly rare & fascinating piece of vernacular treen , a perpetual calendar / almanac in fruitwood, one side has the numerals 1 - 31 then repeated underneath in Roman numerals, the other side
has the months of the year spelt "Phonetically JA- NA -WA -RI = January VE - WER - WA -RI =
February, Maard = March and so on , the phonetic spellings could most probably be a broken dialect of old Friesian ( Dutch) which does have similarities in the way some of the months are spelt & also how the letters would possibly have sounded by somebody who was unlearned or
unfamiliar with the common language . Initialed BW. AL-MA-NAK English /Dutch 18th Century
