Macabre yes,but.also darkly humorous,17thC. oak carving, executed in a naive folkart style
of a well dressed all most suave looking Gentleman taking great pleasure in putting an unfortunate
portly chap to the Sword.. A rebel perhaps.. or..maybe an outlaw who's been on the run .. we shall never know.. definitely a long lost forgotten piece of folklore! all this taking place under a dramatically carved oak tree.
